Okay, so October is not actually food month but we sure do seem to be celebrating food a lot throughout the month of October. For example, below is just a sample of what we have in October:

  • Food Day is October 24, 2012
  • Farm to School Month
  • National Pizza Month
  • Apple Month
  • Vegetarian Awareness Month
  • National School Lunch Week is October 15-19, 2012.

And in the Shenandoah Valley, we are very lucky to have a lot of hard-working folks putting together a variety of different events to celebrate food throughout October. Please consider volunteering, participating or just checking out one of the many celebrations honoring our food communities.
