Meet the Matriarch: Hecuba

Hecuba is Queen of Troy, married to King Priam and mother of Cassandra. Aside from her role as queen and mother, Hecuba serves as a sort of grounding force, a rock of sorts to the women of Troy. Rachel Zapata, a JMU student who plays Hecuba in this production of The Trojan Women, discusses Hecuba’s amazing strengths and vulnerabilities in the interview below.
