Edith J. Carrier Arboretum

Location: 780 University Blvd, MSC  3705 * Harrisonburg, VA 22807

The Edith J. Carrier Arboretum, located at James Madison University, is open free to the public from dawn to dusk 365 days a year. It broke ground in 1985 and was officially opened to the public in 1989. While there visitors are able to enjoy nature and all its beauty with the perfect combination of the botanical gardens and forest, making the Arboretum a little piece of paradise in the middle of Harrisonburg’s urban development. The Edith J. Carrier Arboretum is the only public-oriented arboretum at a Virginia school.
