In Case You Missed It… is a feature of the Center for Faculty Innovation blog providing resources from our programs for faculty who were not able to attend. Although no substitute for being able to attend, we hope that this follow up is useful to you.
On 2/20 and 2/21, Patrice Ludwig engaged faculty in a workshop that explored strategies for practical, effective, and evidence-based ways to collect students’ feedback on how well a course is going. Sixteen faculty members and graduate students from ten colleges and departments attended the workshop. Please direct any questions about this workshop to email@example.com.
Participants seemed to be excited about looking at assessment as a way to gather real time data on students’ thoughts rather than as a way to generate grades. I thought the best part of the sessions was hearing participants discuss their desired outcomes and their formative assessment techniques. They seemed to really “get it.” I really had fun seeing their “aha” moments.
