Remixing is an art as well as a science. If you want to make a good remix it must make sense. For example, if you are remixing a song, you want the beats to match up and the words probably shouldn’t overlap. However, within those specifications you have plenty of room for creativity and¬†originality. Originality, you might ask? Yes. When remixing you are always making new pieces out of existing work. Another example? I have many friend’s in JMU’s a cappella group “Exit 245.” They received national awards and almost 1 million views on YouTube for their remix of “Titanium” by David Guetta (ft. Sia).

If we are being completely honest, I am not sure what I want to remix yet. Looking back on my blog posts from the semester, I think I am going to work on the Charles Whitman post and run with the Texas tower shootings. However, I also like the idea at looking at other video games and seeing what they have to offer the academic world. Time will tell. I will know by BYOD day!
